Bridal Hair & Makeup – “I can do it myself, so why should I have to pay £££ for it on my wedding day” – This is what brides think of our services and we have always been bottom of the food chain when it comes to suppliers for your wedding day.

I am here to change this perception, not just for us as hair & makeup suppliers but for YOU as a bride to be currently looking at your budget thinking, where do I spend it?

So here are 10 ridiculous (AND HIDDEN) costs that are more expensive than you will be quoted for bridal hair/makeup (with our agency at least):

1- Turning on Fairy lights (already installed) at 1 end of the venue – £1,200 (Extra for the other end!)

2- Hiring a chocolate fountain for 2 hours – £650

3- Having the nice wine glasses instead of standard ones – £560

4- Having a room for the bride to get ready in – £500

5- £30 corkage per bottle for someone to open your Champagne (after also buying the bottles yourself) – £450 for 15 bottles

6- Hiring napkins- £1,000 for 55 people

7- £500 for 1 hour bar extension

8- Confetti clean up service – £400

9- £1,966 hiring chairs for 100 people

10- Ice for drinks for 200 guests – £2,000!!

So why do I think our services are worth more than these I hear you ask.. Well let me talk about the reason we want hair & makeup done by professionals in the first place, we want to look & feel like the very best versions of ourselves not only for our special day but to remember in photos in years to come.

We want our hair and makeup to look beautiful all day long, withstand the English weather, tears, hugs & dance moves they will inevitably be subjected to.

As brides we put such emphasis on saying YES to that perfect dress, but when completing our bridal look don’t hold our hair & makeup with the same standard, why?

When you look back after your wedding day, who are you going to be thanking- the lady who switched your lights on or the team who looked after you throughout your wedding planning journey, through your skincare transformation, your hair condition plan, helped source those perfect extensions just for you and who organised your morning seamlessly and couldn’t have got ready without? I think I know the answer to this…

So you could spend your wedding budget on all of those ridiculous things above, and keep on telling everyone hair & makeup is overpriced, or you could take us artists seriously; the qualifications we have all had to complete, the investment we have all had to make into our kits, the hours of research we continue to do to ensure you are looked after to the level you expect.

Or blow £2k on frozen water.. thats your call.
