We have all heard the stories, and believe me it happens more often than you think.
You get an email from the wedding supplier you booked maybe 6-12 months ago, with 3 months to go until your wedding date and they tell you “I’m so sorry, I’ve double booked”.
And your heart breaks & you feel sick to your stomach thinking how on earth am I going to find someone else with only 3 months to go, why didn’t they let me know earlier?!
Obviously, none of us are perfect and at times we all make mistakes, however usually there are red flags early on that as a bride to be, you can watch out for to make sure you’re booking a trustworthy wedding supplier:
1) Where did you find your wedding supplier? If you found them on a reputable Wedding Directory, Paid Advert, Google Business Page or through a recommendation then these suppliers are usually vetted/have some reviews you can refer to.
2) How many reviews can you see, where and how recent are they? The best wedding suppliers will have many reviews, all over the place & they will be added to regularly.
3) How cheap are they? You know the saying… you get what you pay for? Well that couldn’t be more true when it comes with the suppliers you choose for the biggest day of your life. If they seem too good to be true, they probably are!
4) Did they have T&Cs or a contract in place? If not they don’t value protecting you or their business so stay clear. Here is a good example of T&Cs you should see…
5) Have they ghosted you since you paid your deposit? If they take your money and then you don’t hear from them, or know when you’re likely to hear from them next then this is a red flag.
Trust your instincts when booking your wedding suppliers, do your research and give yourself lots of time (12 months ideally) to secure the right one for you, who gives you all those excited butterflies & who bends over backwards to make sure you have the best experience possible.
My next blog will be all about the suppliers I HIGHLY recommend, so keep an eye out for this one, it will make wedding planning a breeze.
